Department of Chemistry

The annual examination system for B.Sc. and M.Sc. programmes has been replaced by a semester-based system, implemented in 2021 and 2022 respectively, in alignment with the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020. This transition brought transformative changes to undergraduate and postgraduate education by introducing flexible learning pathways and multiple exit options. Currently, the following programmes are being offered by the Department of Chemistry:

(a) B.Sc. Chemistry: Offered as a Three-Year Programme (introduced in 2021) and a Four-Year Degree Programme (from 2025) under the NEP 2020 semester system

(b) B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry (Vocational): A Three-Year programme approved by UGC

(c) M.Sc. Chemistry: A Four-Semester Postgraduate Programme (introduced in 2022).

(d) Doctoral Programme: Ph.D. in Chemistry is offered in the following current research areas of expertise of the faculty members:
