About the department

The Department of Advertising, Sales Promotion and Salesmanship was established in 1997 under the leadership of Dr. Indra Kumar at St. John’s College with the vision of imparting specialized education in the dynamic fields of Advertising, Marketing, Sales Promotion, And Salesmanship. Since its establishment, the department has played an important role in developing professional competence, communication skills, and creative abilities among students, enabling them to meet the growing challenges of the modern business environment.

The department aims to provide a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure in the areas of advertising strategies, consumer behaviour, personal selling, sales management, brand promotion, market research, and integrated marketing communication. The curriculum is designed to equip students with the latest concepts and techniques required in the fields of media, marketing, retail, and corporate communication.

  • Completion of 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized board
